Contact was established with our sister school – Externat St Joseph de Cluny – through our past Principal, Sister Phyllis Wharfe from as early as 2006.

An educational visit was made in 2007 by 45 students and 4 teachers who were accommodated by students of SJCSF and two students from Presentation College.

The exchange being established, two teachers – Mrs Joseph-Dennie and Mrs Otway-Charles undertook a successful trip in Easter 2008 with 28 students. We were able to visit various parts of French Guiana and to begin to understand its history as a penal colony in areas like Les Iles du Salut and to experience the modernism of the Space Centre at Kourou.

These visits are crucial to the development of the foreign language and to the enabling of an understanding of other cultures and civilizations while establishing friendships. The teachers and students were also hosted by students of the Externat. Students have kept in touch with their hosts and we hope that these types of educational visits will continue in the near future.
