  • Mrs Teneille Ferrier (Home Economics) and Ms Meagan Mark (Physical Education) remain with us for another year.
  • The following arrangements have been put in place for Dean duties:
    • MsCrystal Dwarika and Mrs Lily Bryan-Marshall will perform duties in Forms 1 and 2,
    • Ms Nisha Ramlalwill assist Ms S. Hamid in Form 3,
    • Ms Lorraine Vincent and MsVonetta Grant will perform duties in Forms 4 and 5,
    • Ms Keiba. John and Mrs MareshaPhagoo will continue in Form 6.

Finance

  • Thank you parents for you annual $600 contributions.  This has gone a long way to alleviate some of the financial burdens at the school.  I am making an appeal to those parents who have not yet paid to please do so.
  • As indicated in the last letter, we are embarking on an “Adopt your Class” Programme where the parents will take collective financial responsibility for the general upkeep of their daughters’ classroom.  This will entail servicing of the AC units, repairs to furniture and repainting of classrooms at the end of the academic year.

Infrastructure

  • No major repairs were carried out during the July/August vacation due to lack of funds. The school is in dire need of repainting at this time.
  • The existing guard booth needs to be refurbished and there is need for one to be built at the upper gate so that security there can be better accommodated.

Safety and Security

·         There are some students who areon the school compound from as early as 6:00 a.m. Others are still on the compound after 5:00 p.m.  Parents are advised that supervision of your daughters is only guaranteed during the hours 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Kindly inform your daughters that they are not to leave the school compound once they have entered.  Also, students are not to congregate by Laurette’s (next door to Boys’ RC) after school to wait on transport. They may wait on the school compound.

·         Photo IDs are being introduced.   These will cost $50/student.  Students will be required to scan the IDs on entering the school compound.  At present the infrastructure is being put in place for implementation at the start of Term II.

Extra-Curricular

  • It is a requirement that each student be involved in at least one club during the academic year.
  • The members of the Dragon Boat Team (SJCSF Drakainas) will be participating in the San Fernando City Corporation Republic Day Dragon Boat Regatta on Sunday 23rd September at the San Fernando Waterfront off Lady Hailes Avenue.  Starting at 10:00 a.m.  Please come out and support.

Communication

  • From This term you will be able to access your daughter’s reports online.  You will be issued a password as stated in the term calendar.  Printed copies will be available upon request.  Please note that the report is not valid unless it bears the School stamp and Principal’s signature.
  • This is a reminder that the SMS messaging system is up and running.  This is another means of communicating directly with you.  Please note that you will be charged for each text you receive

General

Parents/Guardians, as we embark on yet another year of school life I ask for your continued support and cooperation in having your daughters adhere to school rules and policies that have been put in place to ensure the realisation of our Vision and Mission.  I also look forward to your active participation in school life in general and more particularly, involvement in your daughters’ extra-curricular activities.
