November 01, 2013

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

As we approach the end of term, this is to inform/update you of upcoming events:

This takes place on Saturday, November 09, 2013 at the school, 12 noon to 6:00 pm.  There will be many attractions including Face Painting, Rock Climbing, Karaoke, a Dance Extravaganza, Magic Show to name a few.  Bar-b-Que lunch will be on sale and can be collected from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm.  Entrance fee is ten dollars ($10.00)

Parents/ Guardians, if you require a respite from all the excitement, you are welcome to visit the Auditorium where you can sit, relax, have Tea, and be entertained from 3:00-5:00 pm. Tickets are already on sale, just let your daughters know how many you will need.

Students and visitors are reminded to dress appropriately for the event as there is a Dress Code in Effect.

Celebration of Foundress, Blessed Anne Marie Javouhey is November 10.  This year the school community will be celebrating the occasion on Tuesday, November 12 with school mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Pro-Cathedral.  We will be honoured with the presence of the Papal Nuncio to the Antilles, His Excellency Nicola Girasoli who will be the chief celebrant at the mass.

ALL members of the school community are expected to attend.

There will be normal classes during the afternoon period.

This year, there will be no Recognition Day function.  However, we will be recognising the achievements our CAPE and CSEC students. This will take place at the Church immediately after Mass.

End of term examinations for forms one to five will run from November 18 to December 06.

Students of sixth form will not have formal exams this term.  Normal classes will continue up till December 06.

Reports for forms one to six will be distributed on December 13. Students are reminded to bring in their pouches to their Form Teachers.

During the two weeks of exams, a photographer will be coming in to take class photos and individual photos of the students of forms 5 and upper 6.  Students should be neat and tidy and must be in proper uniform for the photo shoots.

This annual event will used as a fundraiser this year.  The show will take place in our school’s Auditorium on Thursday, December 12, 2013, starting at 6:00 pm.  Tickets will go on sale soon.

NB: There will be a dress rehearsal on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 10:00 am.

School closes on Friday, December 13, 2013 and reopens on Monday, January 06, 2014.

As is our tradition, there will be closing Mass at OLPH at 8:30 am. I would like to inform Parents and Guardians that I expect ALL students of the SJC San Fernando family to attend.

Remember: A family that prays together stays together.

After Mass students will return to school for class parties, clean-up and collection of reports.

School will be dismissed at 12:30 pm.

On behalf of Mrs East, Ag VP and Staff, I wish to thank you for your support and co-operation thus far and look forward to continued partnership in the education and holistic development of your daughters.

Yours in Christ
